World of fantasy, seashell mosaic and graphics with mixed media

November 24, 2012 at Kings Bay Gallery in Brooklyn Public Library located at 3650 Nostrand Avenue, NY 11209 reception for the unique art exhibition the “World of Fantasy” was held.
It is became a very nice tradition to show the best and new art works and achievements which were made in the artist’s life during the year.
On this day, Alla Baksanskaya and Evgeni Tonevitski had a great opportunity to demonstrate their art works and to talk with audience.
It was a very interesting event where many friends, artists and guests could socialize and share with each other their opinions.

Our exhibition received a very good comments. My seashell mosaics, figurines and wall clocks were looking very organic with Evgeni’s graphics together.
Evgeniy Tonevitski was born in the town of Kiselevsk (Russia). From 1980 to 1991 he lived and worked as an artists-painter and designer of clothes in St. Petersburg. He is a Symbolist, who works with ink, oil, pen and acrylic. His main symbol was an image of Woman, his latest exhibit at the Jewish Folk Gallery -”Fly to the Star” depicts the new symbols the creative Master came up with.
In the new exhibition Evgeni increased his symbol’s collection with image of lion, made in mixed media oil and acrylic painting on the canvas with another examples amazing graphics. World of his fantasy never had any boundaries…
I, Alla Baksanskaya, was born in Baku (Azerbaijan) and graduated from Medical State University. Since 1994 I have lived in New York. As much as I remember myself I always painted and turned ordinary things into artsy objects. I like to create my art from natural ocean shells. My goal is to create unique focal points that are pleasurable to live with, that bring positive emotion into someone’s heart.
During our exhibition “World of Fantasy” I was talking and proudly presenting all my new mosaics and figurines which were made and awarded on the Seashell Show in Sanibel, Florida 2012 and Philadelphia Seashell Show 2012. I also was showing the new mosaics which were created specifically for this exhibition. It is unusual mosaic “Looking for Yourself” which made from Blue Mussel shells. Natural shells bring an attractive 3D effect, great color and texture to the mosaic.
Another mosaic “Beautifly”, is an imaginary butterfly, which looked like like a real lady. Her whimsical wings made from a central cut from four different huge shells. The whole mosaic made from natural seashell, preserving their natural colors.

In the work with name “Dream”, all viewers could recognize their own dreams – beautiful butterflies in the night.
On the wall and inside plexiglass cabinets I tried to show the different and absolutely new miniature artworks.
The exhibition will be open until December 21, 2012 and my best suggestion is to visit and enjoy it.
