Fiddler on the RoofPosted by Alla on Apr 7, 2009 in Blog, People, Portfolio | Please comment
The reason for this 3 dimensional seashell mosaic work was exhibition “Jewish Heritage: Art for Children”. My personal experience and the very emotional stories which I remember after my grandmother were my inspiration. My grandmother was born in 1900 in small country town in czarist Russia and knew suburban life very good. The work is my first chance to realize a very difficult project to show fiddler like a major person in an old style Jewish every day life. He played and supported people in their happy and tragic days. In this work I tried to bring a special atmosphere in which Jewish people lived.
